Girl Flippers Online Qualifier for FTA World Championships

Welcome to the Freestyle Trampoline Association (FTA) home of the World Championships and all things flipping and acrobatic! For 2024, the FTA is introducing a NEW online competition for the Women's Category, ages 16+ so you can have a chance to qualify through online submissions. The FTA is looking to ensure we bring more 'Girl Flippers' into the sport.  

The Terms & Conditions to enter is as follows: 

• Post a video on Instagram by July 1st of your best 3 - 5 skill combo on one of the following trampolines so your combo is clearly visible: 5 x 5 Freestyle Trampoline (EUROTRAMP if possible), Olympic Style Trampoline, High Performance Garden Trampoline
• The final skill of the combo MUST be landed to feet. Any unsafe combo's will not be considered.​
• Each combination MUST show a variety of both forward and backward rotations.
• Each combination MUST show at least one skill with one double flip and a single twist within the skill (forwards or backwards) with a good variety of both flipping and twisting skills within the combo.
• Each combination MUST show at least one feet-to-feet skill
• Use the hashtag #FTAgirlflippers2024
• Tag @ftaworldchampionships and @eurotramp
• Enter your submission on the FTAWorldChamps.com website
• Wait for the results posted here & on IG on July 15th

In the transformative year of 2023, Greg Roe, our co-founder, explains the origins of Freestyle Trampoline and how he went from traditional to freestyle. 

The FTA has made a monumental shift from a social media community to a mainstream sports sensation! After the resounding success of our inaugural World Championships, the FTA is forging ahead with strategic collaborations in the sports and entertainment industry. These key partnerships recognize the immense potential of Freestyle Trampoline as the future of dynamic sporting events.

Fueled by our dynamic new team, the FTA is strategically bringing the FTA World Series events directly to cities worldwide that have expressed keen interest. This collaborative effort is pivotal in elevating our events, ensuring a broader live and viewing audience than ever before.

In 2023, the FTA reached an impressive 2.1 BILLION potential viewers, with an estimated actual viewership of 20 - 30 Million globally. With anticipation of tremendous growth, we're projecting these numbers to skyrocket to 3 Billion potential viewers, with an estimated 50 million actual viewers for 2024!

As we embark on this exciting new year, we're thrilled to share the captivating story of Freestyle Trampoline. CRAZY Flips & Twists on Garden Tramp

Check out the crazy smooth edit made for North Trampoline by #GRTCrew member, Johannes Luethi as he flips and twists with his sister, Magdalena on his high performance garden trampoline.... in the winter!

Johannes has been a founding member of the #GRTCrew for over 6 years now, starting when he was just 14 years old.  He is one of the best freestyle trampoline athletes in the world and placed 3rd overall this year at the World Championships. 

Johannes also co-owns a video production company called 'Made To Create' with his long time friend, Evan Rocha.  He specializes in drone footage and beautiful editing like you see here.

Night of the Jumps Freestyle Trampoline Show

Welcome to the Freestyle Trampoline Association (FTA) home of the World Championships and all things flipping and acrobatic! In this video we feature the FTA's first appearance with the popular FMX competition series, Night of the Jumps, from Munich, Germany.

For the first time, the FTA has showcased a fun & exciting freestyle trampoline show at a Freestyle Motocross (FMX) competition.  Our athletes who attended did a fantastic job entertaining the sold out crowd of over 9,000, with their synchro flips, twists, and unique showmanship. 

Athletes on the team are Milco Abrahams (Netherlands), Brin Leben (Slovenia), Luuk Swinkels (Netherlands) & Matti König (Germany). All of these athletes have competed themselves in the past in both traditional and freestyle trampoline.  However, this is not the first time freestyle trampoline and FMX have joined forces.  In 2015, FTA co-founder, Greg Roe, embarked on a similar tour, but with Nitro Circus, showcasing the new sport and Greg's impressive talents.  This included him performing a quintuple front flip as the finale to his show, which had never been done in this type of environment before.

BACK HAT™ and the  FTA have also teamed up for an exciting collaboration during the Night of the Jumps competition in Munich. This partnership brings together a team of professional freestyle trampoline athletes known as "flippers" and the hat made to be worn “flipped” backwards. The "flippers" will showcase their skills by attempting backflips while sporting the BACK HAT.

“We are excited to partner with such an innovative and cool brand as BACK HAT™ and showcase what our athletes can do, while they entertain the audiences in Munich“ said Greg Roe, Co-Founder, Freestyle Trampoline Association.

“This show is going to be so crazy and I’m super stoked to show off our freestyle skills and how the BACK HAT literally sticks the landing, like I do, at Night of the Jumps in Munich,“ said Milco Abrahams, from the Netherlands; Team Leader & Freestyle Trampoline Athlete.

FTA World Championships Junior Category

For 2024, the FTA is introducing a NEW Junior Category, ages 13 - 15 (you must be turning 13 in 2024, or born in 2011), who will have slightly different judging and scoring rules than the seniors (age 16+). The FTA is looking for technique and to ensure the Juniors are not going for ‘big’ skills they are not yet prepared to land to feet.  We are looking for true athletic control.  We want them to be balanced and show good landings for the future of their athletic development.

Therefore, the judging differences will include:
1. The final skill of the combo MUST be landed to feet on the trampoline.

2. If the Athlete subsequently ‘flys off’ the trampoline and does NOT land on their feet they will still receive a score, however, there will be a deduction of at least 4.0 points from their total score for lack of control.

3. If the Athlete subsequently ‘flys off’ the trampoline but still lands on their feet they will receive a deduction of  2.0 from their total score for lack of control.

4. Each combination MUST show a variety of both forward and backward rotations.

5. Each combination MUST show at least one skill with a double twist within the skill (ie. Full Full) with a good variety of both flipping and twisting skills within the combo.

6. Each combination MUST show at least one feet-to-feet skill (take off from feet and land on feet) at some point in the combo.
